I am a PhD candidate at UTCS, advised by Prof. Inderjit Dhillon. My thesis is on learning with positive and unlabeled examples. It arises in practice in a lot of domains; recommender systems are a classical example (where negative feedback is often rare).  A driving application of my research is predicting gene-disease associations, an important problem in biology. On the theoretical side, I analyze positive-unlabeled learning under random noise models.
